Gartner Names NetSuite Among Leaders (Again)

NetSuite recently announced, for the second year in a row, that it was named in the Leaders quadrant of Gartner Inc.’s comprehensive Magic Quadrant for Cloud Core Financial Management Systems for Midsize, Large and Global Enterprises report.

Gartner is a highly recognized and trusted research firm that provides industry insights for top business executives across a variety of industries.  Being named a Leader for two straight years is significant since accolades like this are not easily achieved.

Oracle & NetSuite were two of the only three financial management systems to be named Leaders among the top 10 ERP packages that Gartner evaluated.  According to the report, Oracle NetSuite has improved upon its ability to execute and completeness of vision since the last Magic Quadrant.

Gartner explains that vendors who place in the Leaders quadrant demonstrate a market-defining vision of how core financial management systems and processes can be supported and improved by moving them to the cloud. Leaders like Oracle and NetSuite couple this with a clear ability to execute this vision through products, services, and go-to-market strategies.

In the report, Gartner explains that they assess vendors’ Ability to Execute by evaluating the products, technologies, services, and operations that enable them to be competitive, efficient and effective in this market. Gartner judges the Ability to Execute by a provider’s success in fulfilling its promises, using the following criteria:

Completeness of Vision:

Gartner assesses vendors’ Completeness of Vision by evaluating their ability to articulate their perspectives on the market’s current and future direction, to anticipate customer needs and cloud technology trends, and to tackle competitive forces. Gartner judges Completeness of Vision based on the vendors’ understanding and articulation of how market forces can be exploited to create new opportunities for itself and its clients, using the following criteria:

  • Offering (Product) Strategy
  • Business Model
  • Vertical/Industry Strategy

We feel it’s noteworthy that NetSuite is the only vendor in the Leader’s Quadrant that serves businesses of all sizes Gartner evaluated in this report – midsized, large and global organizations.
