Family Room Guestbook, presented by Keystone Business Services, Launches at Ronald McDonald Family Room® in Edward Hospital
Keystone Business Services (Keystone) announced today the official launch of Family Room Guestbook, a new app, to be used by Ronald McDonald Family Room in Edward Hospital. This browser-based app allows staff and volunteers to register and check-in patients and families that visit the Family Room.
The Family Room serves as a haven of respite and hospitality to families whose children are in treatment. The Family Room includes two sleep rooms with private bathrooms, a playroom for patients and siblings, a kitchenette, dining tables, television area, two computer stations and multiple sitting areas.
Keystone has been a longtime supporter of the Family Room, including providing a monthly meal donation and sponsoring the annual Uncork Your Support event. Jessica Jozwiak, the wife of Keystone Founder Eric Jozwiak, is a lead volunteer, Community Council Chair and Uncork Your Support Co-chair for the Family Room and came up with the idea for the app after noting how the check-in process was inefficient. Volunteers previously would check-in each family on paper and then later manually enter the data into the system.
Keystone worked directly with Family Room employees to create an app which is compatible with multiple devices and integrated with the existing Family Room database. “We were very excited to work on this project,” said Eric Jozwiak. “It was a great opportunity to utilize our technology skillset to help the Family Room become more efficient. They do such great work in providing hope and hospitality to the families in the community.”
The app will also provide more accurate data analysis allowing the Family Room staff to ensure coverage at peak visiting hours throughout the day. Brittany Rhyne, the Family Room Senior Manager is excited to get the volunteers and staff trained on the app. “The Family Room Guestbook will allow us to collect data more efficiently, track trends and use that data to provide the best experience for our families.”
Both Jozwiak and Rhyne see this as a pilot program and has the potential for expansion to Ronald McDonald Family Rooms nationwide.
